Someone Shook My Snowglobe...

I have a snowglobe that sits on an end table in my living room. It has a few Christmas trees surrounded by a blanket of snow and when left to itself, it's quite a peaceful scene. That was my life just a few short weeks ago, but as of this week, I feel like someone took my "snowglobe" and turned it upside down. The glittery flakes are beautiful while they're swirling around but I have no idea where each one will land or what the landscape will look like when the dust settles. There are uncertainties at every twist and turn and as I sat in the surgeon's office yesterday, fighting the tears, I kept thinking "this can't be happening". Thankfully my sweet husband was with me because once the doctor mumbled something about the seriousness of this cancer, he lost me. Those words seemed to drown out everything else he had to say. Today I'm tired. Not feeling so strong. Without the righteous right hand of the Lord that holds me up, I would be in a heap. But I am so grateful. Grateful for His Presence, grateful for His People and grateful for the Peace that passes all understanding. And I'm grateful for each of you that have come boldly before the throne of our gracious God and petitioned Him on my behalf. I would love it if you would continue to pray for a swift recovery and strength for the journey ahead. Surgery is in 6 days. Yes, the day before Thanksgiving. His ways are definitely not my ways but Proverbs 16:9 says, "In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps." I totally trust God's plans over my own any day! Blessed be the name of the Lord.

My dear friend,

You can count on my praying for you. So many lives have recently experienced the shaking of their snowglobes. The enemy is out to get every last soul he can before our Jesus comes to take us home.

You my friend are not ready. You have a purpose to fulfill. You are a treasure yet to be opened to your fullness.

God is planning to use this story for HIS glory. I can't wait to see how it turns out.

I will be praying and anticipating the next chapter.

Bless you, Cindy

Oh DeeDee! I know God is glorified by your willingness to be open, humble, and vulnerable. Sharing what you're feeling can be intimidating, so I know He sees you magnifying Him through this. I am praying... and missing your voice. Maybe I'll call you, just to hear it. "Good morning... this is DeeDee. How can I help you?"

I just read this in Rick Warren's The Purpose of Christmas. "No one wants what's best for you more than God. No one knows better what will make you truly happy! God doesn't want you to be aftaid of him.. He wants you to run to him, not from him. In fact 365 time in the Bible, God says "Don't be afraid!" That's one "Fear not" for every day of the year! So what are you afraid of? None of us knows what we'll face this next year, but we can know that God loves us, God is with us, and God is for us. One plus God is a majority in any situation."

I love that...that his voice washes over us each day with, " Do not be afraid." I pray that He would cover you and your family each day with these words. I pray that He would guide the hands of your surgeon and the entire team who will walk with you on your road to recovery. I pray that your pain be little, your recovery swift and for His presence to be always before you. In Jesus' name.

God bless you,

Sheree

Hi Dee Dee,

I am at your blog at the suggestion of Cindy from Consider It All Joy.

I'm so, so sorry for the difficult journey your are on, but your declaration of faith on this post lifted my spirits more than anything else has this week.

May I pray for you?

Lord,

I pray for my sister-in-Christ, Dee Dee as she recovers from the surgery she had today. Oh, Lord, sustain her, comfort her, heal her. Flood her heart and the heart of her husband and family with peace they have never known before. Settle the snowflakes in her snow globe in Your perfect timing, but, in the meantime, help her to see the moments of beauty, for you promise to make all things beautiful in Your time. We love You, and we thank You for being there through thick and thin.

In Jesus' Name I pray, AMEN!
